The South Florida Water Management District's (SFWMD) research is aimed at documenting pre-restoration conditions and evaluating the success of the restoration as it proceeds. Research results can be used to maintain construction and restoration objectives in order to reach the restoration goal... a self sustaining river-floodplain ecosystem supporting a rich and diverse flora and fauna of native species once again.
