Bringing Technology into the Field
Learn about these world class Ecological Restoration Projects. Secondary
teachers will spend 2 nights and 3 days to investigate the challenges
impacting these wetland ecosystems. Teachers will receive 30 in-service
hours, $150/day stipends and a wealth of resources. The Workshop
is sponsored by Clark Advance Learning Center at Indian River Community

The Nature of Learning – May 30, 31 & June 1,
2007
Teachers explore the Indian River Lagoon and learn about the issues
impacting the estuary, and its link with the greater Everglades
watershed. Teachers go home each night. Teachers receive 30 in-service

The Great Water Odyssey - 5th Grade Interactive Computer
Training Workshop
Coming in August and September – Final Dates to be announced

The interdisciplinary workshops are correlated to the Florida’s
Sunshine State Standards in science, math, reading and language
arts. The one–day computer training workshops for 5th grade
teachers will be offered in these counties early this fall. The
training workshops for 3rd and 4th grade teachers will be offered
later in the 2007-08 school year. Space for these workshops will
be limited.

An American Treasure Workshop
Please join us for an Everglades: An American Treasure Workshop.
Formal and informal Florida educators are invited with preference
given to secondary educators. We have completed the workshops for
the 2006-2007 school year. Watch for new 2007-08 schedule!
Native Florida Butterflies: Biology and Gardening
Spend the day learning about butterfly biology and gardening and
how you can incorporate these beautiful insects into your daily
lessons. Florida Butterfly Expert, Alana Edwards, Education &
Training Coordinator for Florida Atlantic University’s Center
for Environmental Studies, will introduce you to a wealth of butterfly
related resources in this one-day workshop. Download
