The Field Studies for Students Program teaches students about the Greater Everglades watershed as they explore the biological habitats of the Kissimmee River and learn about the Kissimmee River Restoration Project. Field activities teach students aquatic plant, invertebrate and fish sampling and identification methods. In addition, students participate in water quality sampling and learn testing and analysis techniques. Students from Middle and High school classes from throughout South and Central Florida have participated in the program, as well as college and university classes.
One-day Programs include a 3-5 hour trip on the Kissimmee River
via pontoon boat or canoe.
Overnight Programs for high school and college students are also
available. For other field trip opportunities in our area,
check out our regional partners.
