Florida Master Naturalist Program
UPLANDS COURSE
FALL 2009
This fall, we are offering the Florida Master Naturalist UPLANDS Program
for residents and visitors interested in learning more about Florida's
unique upland habitats including hardwood hammocks, pine flatwoods,
scrub, prairie and rangelands. The course will be offered for six weeks
from 8:30-5:00 on Wednesdays starting October 21 & 28, November 4, 12,
18 & December 2, 2009. The last day to register online is October 1, 2008.
The Florida Master Naturalist Program (FMNP) is a statewide program
developed by the University of Florida/IFAS that requires 40 contact
hours for students. It is a fun and educational course that is
appropriate for anyone interested in learning more about Florida's
natural environment and conservation issues. Weekly field trips to
local natural areas to explore native habitats include Highlands
Hammock, DuPuis Management Area, Archbold Biological Station, the
Kissimmee Prairie Preserve and a cattle ranch.
